Deep River Waterpark, Crown Point

This is the spot. Deep River Waterpark is Lake County's premier water park, and it's been a summer staple for families for years. Pack a cooler, claim a spot on the lawn, and let the kids run wild. The zero-entry pool area is perfect for toddlers, and the bigger slides keep the older kids (and adults) entertained. Pro tip: get there early on weekends, especially during July and August, when the parking lot fills up fast.
Indiana Dunes National & State Parks

Bulldog Park, Crown Point

Right in the heart of downtown Crown Point, Bulldog Park is a year-round family destination. In the summer, the splash pad is the main attraction, and the Farmers Market takes over the park every Saturday morning. The park also hosts the famous Thursday Car Cruises, the Crown Point Corn Roast, and outdoor movie nights. In the winter, the splash pad transforms into an NHL-size ice rink. It's the kind of community gathering place that makes Crown Point feel like a small town, even as it grows.
A Few Tips for a Successful Summer Day Out
Pack more sunscreen than you think you need. The Midwest sun is no joke, especially on the lake. Reapply every two hours, and bring a hat and sunglasses for everyone.
